Scholarship Program Announcement The Philadelphia Section of the Institute of Food Technologists is pleased to announce the opening of their scholarship program for 2013. The Philadelphia IFT Scholarship program is designed to foster the study of Food Science and Technology and related fields for students based in the Philadelphia area. In addition, this program is also used as a recruitment tool for local colleges and universities that promote the advancement of Food Science/Technology or other closely related fields. Qualifications: Students
who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply: · Students must be enrolled in an educational institution as a full-time student pursuing a degree (Associates or higher) in the field of food science and technology, or in one or more of the sciences or branches of engineering concerned with advancing food science and technology

Students must be members of the Philadelphia Section of
the Institute of Food Technologists. Membership application information is

Committee members will review all applications. Recipients will be selected in April and will be notified prior to the April 30, 2013 meeting, where scholarships will be awarded to the recipients.
Judging Criteria:
Scholarship Applicants who meet the
above requirements will be judged based on academic achievement, extracurricular
involvement and activity in both the National and Regional sections of IFT.
